up to the full version simple. Lite provides a diary to track events. It
automates the allocation of staff to Fixed
Sessions and then does the same for ‘Free’ Consultants. Next a drop down list of suitable and available candidates is provided so that the user can ‘click and allocate’ other staff to fill gaps. Users can print out lists of who is available and unavailable for confirmation.
When allocating trainees hard copy reports are provided with background
information so that trainees can be allocated according to their modules with a
degree of certainty. And the formidable RotaTrack Diary with
‘Away Groups’ - a major feature of the full RotaTrack is available to exert control and interactive feedback and continues to do so after the trial.
Total time for the full RotaTrack to complete a 40+ theatre installation just over 20 minutes.

The new range of rota products provides a solution for every need in every
department and every budget no matter how big or small. Users can upgrade from
one to another at minimal cost.
Resource Manager ($850) Diary and simple shifts. It also lists available and unavailable staff by day
etc.
Shift Manager ($3250) As above but provides more detailed shifts and On Calls.
Lite ($9500) Auto generates fixed sessions & float free. provides drop down lists of available and qualified staff for
manual allocation.

That includes all fixed sessions including ITU and Obstetric and pain clinics
and other outpatient sessions, float sessions and Trainee allocations.
Administration staff are freed up for other tasks and RotaTrack
’s extensive record keeping provides a valuable tool. RotaTrack enables reports
to be developed showing each anaesthetist their annual work programme as well
as individual leave records and trainee supervision and EWTD compliance. An up
to the minute rota is now available on our Intranet to all individual users and
departments such as the theatre suites.
”Whilst being re-written RotaTrack has been split into three parts. A low cost
Lite version provides semi-automation in that it autoflows fixed sessions and
float-free sessions (that is the easy part addressed by other semi-automatic
solutions
‘plug in your own expert’ - if available and away you go). An intermediate version goes where no-one else
can with the flowing of trainees in accordance with service needs and training
modules. It also includes shifts and on-calls. Finally a customised version
such as Derby
’s is available for multi-site and larger hospitals, so you can pick by budget or
needs.
Following a move to a faster SQL version of our database engine we were anxious
to exploit the benefits. Taking the new installation at the Royal Derby, we ran
RotaTrack up to full speed and left the system to bed-in and provide accurate
automation over a number of months before replacing old workarounds to tap into
the new features.
